Are you as impatient as I am?

I’d love for everything to appear instantly the moment I decide on it – or better yet, yesterday. You know what I mean, right?

Patience has never been my strong suit.

And yet, time and again, I’m reminded how much better ideas, concepts, and results turn out when I give them space to breathe. When I let them “sit” for a few days, let the ideas simmer, and approach them in stages.

Even though the final results always convince me – showing me the depth and complexity of what time can reveal – I still catch myself wanting to skip the process. I want to jump straight to the finish line: decision made, done, complete.

But what do you do when the facts contradict that urge? Is it a flaw? A problem? Do I need to meditate more, reflect more, or become more “enlightened” to find peace?

Let’s be honest – living like a monk has never been my thing. Probably never will be. So what’s the alternative?

What if we – the impatient ones – are perfectly fine just as we are?

What if impatience and drive are the very motors of progress and achievement? What if they’re not weaknesses to “coach out” of us but strengths to embrace?

What if we shifted our perspective entirely?

What if the truth is: many things don’t require us to do so much, but to allow them to unfold?

Reality has its own timeline. Like a plant – you can’t force parsley to grow faster by sheer willpower, deadlines, or pressure.

What if we learned to give things the space they need to grow, evolve, and take their time?

Maybe allowing this is a new kind of management discipline – one that teaches us when to act and when to let things be.

So maybe patience isn’t the answer after all.

It’s about redefining success.
